JAMBI, INDONESIA,SJBNEWS.ID - Global Digital Core (GDC), a data center facility located in Jambi, Indonesia, has announced the deployment of Google Global Cache (GGC) infrastructure within its data center environment.
The deployment of Google Global Cache enables Google content and services — including YouTube, Google Play, and other Google platforms — to be delivered locally to internet users in Jambi and surrounding regions. By serving content directly from local infrastructure, the solution significantly reduces latency, improves streaming performance, and enhances the overall internet experience for end users.
Previously, a large portion of this traffic had to traverse networks outside the region before reaching users in Jambi. With the presence of Google Global Cache at GDC Data Center, a substantial share of this content traffic can now be delivered directly from local infrastructure.
For Internet Service Providers (ISPs) operating in the region, this deployment also creates new opportunities for improved network efficiency through local interconnection. ISPs can access locally cached content through JAX – Jambi Access Exchange, an interconnection platform hosted within the GDC ecosystem that facilitates efficient traffic exchange between networks and content platforms.
The deployment represents an important milestone in the development of digital infrastructure in the region. Infrastructure of this scale is typically concentrated in major metropolitan hubs such as Jakarta or Singapore. The presence of global content delivery infrastructure in Jambi signals a significant step forward in decentralizing internet infrastructure across Indonesia.
With the presence of Google Global Cache at GDC, Jambi is increasingly positioned as an emerging regional digital infrastructure node in Sumatra, supporting the growing demand for digital services, cloud platforms, streaming applications, and online content consumption.
